Our minds are full of pictures
of what God is like:

Omnipotent
holy
Compassionate Father
our strength and shield

Thou hast loved Me.
and I have Thee

and yet if we are willing to learn To let God be different:

a kind shelter
a deep pool
a Familiar incandescence
an inner eternity-

it is to have our entire conception widened immensely

even through the poor medium of our little selves
we swing gently into Love
quite unlike what we have known before
our need met by the measureless One

Take off your shoes

feet on the Holy ground
the wind stirs our imagination
-grown and still young and soaring

Infinite God
dream through us
Amen.
